Clavosan is a product indicated for the treatment of infections caused by the proliferation of microscopic fungi, also known as mycoses. Fungi are eukaryotic micro-organisms of plant origin. Most of the time, these agents live ubiquitously in the environment, spreading through airborne spores.

Some, however, may be part of the human commensal flora on our skin and inside our bodies. But when the balance is upset by an injury or infection, a germ or fungus takes over, causing an infection that needs to be treated with an antifungal agent.

How to prevent foot fungus and avoid recurrences?

Moisture encourages the appearance of foot fungus, so impeccable foot hygiene and certain precautions are essential for its management and prevention:

• Wipe feet properly after washing: it’s very important to dry the entire surface of the foot, paying particular attention to the interdigital spaces, especially between the little toes, which are generally much tighter. You should use a completely dry towel, and you may need to use a hairdryer;
• Never share towels, as you risk spreading your infection to others. Similarly, we advise you to remove your bath mats and vacuum and disinfect your floors regularly;
• Wash your clothes regularly at a temperature of at least 40°;
• Do not walk barefoot, and wear sandals in all communal areas;
• Avoid all situations that encourage excessive perspiration. Shoes should be worn loosely, to facilitate air circulation. It’s best to use socks made of natural fibers (linen, cotton), and avoid rubber and synthetic soles. As soon as the season allows, you should opt for open shoes and generally let your feet breathe as often as possible;
• Change your socks every day and treat your shoes. If you’ve been sweating a lot, let them dry out and spray them with a sanitizing or anti-fungal product.

How to use Clavosan?

Apply a small amount of Clavosan on cleaned and dry skin of feet and nails with rubbing movements. Use 2 times a day.

Before applying the cream, wash and dry your hands. Infected areas should be cleaned with a non-acidic soap and then dried thoroughly. The cream should be applied in a thin layer to the affected area and around the perimeter, especially in folded areas, where over-application could lead to maceration.

Follow with a light massage to help the cream penetrate, then wash your hands. Allow the cream to penetrate before putting on your shoes.

If you apply too much, ask your doctor for advice. If you forget to use the cream, apply it as soon as you remember, then follow the usual dosage.
